“Actually it was a nice experience. I couldn’t imagine that I could encounter such a great impact. You know, at first it was hard to make decision. Many forces were going around in my brain convincing me “don’t go” it was an audible voice though. Sometimes in normal reasoning I could imagine. Prayer camp? Just the place to pray all the time? We are going to spend three days? Real? The bad thing whenever I looked back on my prayer life, it was not convincing at all. I could use only four minutes even in our daily prayer sessions and it was enough. I had nothing more to pray. But whenever I looked around to my brothers and sisters, they were blasting in tongues. So among the questions I was asking myself “im I going to stand besides these generals of God in prayers in three days? They speak in tongues while I don’t know how even to start? No” my sister in Christ paused a bit to take some breath.

She was sharing with me about her prayer life at campus.

Thus the first thing to start with was the prayer camp. She sorted it because she argued it was the bridge to her new and rapid spiritual growth and experiences.

“Wow! That’s very wonderful!” I said “ you had all those questions and imaginations. But I wonder how did you defeat them and you found yourself at prayer camp?” I continued asking my question.

“Huh! What I… I.. I can say first of all, it was God’s plan. I’m sure God did himself because I remember one day when I was in confusions still, I prayed to ask his assistance on the thing I was going through”

“so you prayed? Your four minutes prayers?” I interrupted. After my question, we found both of us laughing.

“Yeah! The four minutes prayers!” she added, the smile still residing on her face. “So I finally made my decision on the last day. I remember it was Friday. I thank God among the people who were in the bus for prayer camp that day, I was among”

“Wow! Glory to God. I feel I’m among the fortunate people because I have a lot to learn today”

“Maybe it happened for this moment” she replied

“Exactly” I then replied to her “So now I want to know about the prayer camp” I continued.

“Only to know about it?” she replied

“Yeah, I think so but maybe let me look another way to put my ques…”

“Worry out! I’ll assist you” she interrupted “but don’t mind me because I interrupt you a lot"

"How can I mind that my sister!?" I said.

"Okay then! Maybe I would also explain to you what I found there, what was the experience et cetera, right?”

“Yeah! That will be more beneficial”

“Okay! Maybe to start with let me assist you on what you asked first. Prayer camp in a simple and understandable meaning is the camp or we can call it a gathering where people meet for one great agenda which is prayers. In this agenda you can find some lessons or topics taught about prayers and getting enough time to practice on what you are being taught. You know my young brother, when you read your Bible you’ll discover a great thing there. There is a right and an effective way to pray. Have you asked yourself question why the desciples of Jesus who were living with him physically, reached the point of asking him how to pray? You can see this in the book of Luke. Luke 11:1

[1]And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And you have to remember these were the desciples of Jesus, who were with him physically. You would find them wherever Jesus was. Jesus took a lot of time teaching them. I hope you see how this question was strange.

When you also read the book of James.

Jas.4.3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (NIV)

The word says, because you ask with wrong motives. So we have to know what are those wrong motives. One is mentioned. But if there are wrong motives there must also be right motives of prayer which we must know and abide with. So we have to learn how to pray and get enough time of practicing them”

“Wow! I’m sorry that I’ll consume you a lot coz I need even those packages” I said smiling.

“Worry out, I was impacted to impact”

“so what was the next?”

“Yeah, on Saturday, I remember it was the day for fasting. I had never fasted In my life. So I was about, wow! How I’m I going to do it? But you know my young brother even this term fasting itself has a lot to learn? I thank God that the topic of fasting and prayers was the first. It was interesting. I’m sure God himself was teaching us through his people. All the worries, the questions and confusions in my head were cleared. I came to understand what exactly fasting means. I came to realize also that you can fast but you are not fasted”

“Really?”

“Exactly. Fasting is more than not taking food. More than not doing what you like the most. More than those. I’ll explain to you one after another just be with me. And when you need a break just tell me”

“Mmmh! I’ll take the break when you are tired” she smiled for my comment and continued. “I think that day is the greatest day of my life. The teachings answered the hardest questions which had shaken my mind in so long. Whenever we entered into prayers, even myself I could wonder what had happened to me? The four minutes prayers young lady could pray one hour without break, and still having an urge to continue praying? It was wonderful. The most thing I found myself speaking in the language that I couldn’t understand “

“speaking in tongues!?”

“Yeah, exactly. We were taught about speaking in tongues but it found me already can speak but it helped me to understand more”

“Wow! How it come about?”

“Oooh! No it doesn’t come like a physical being. To me it happened when I was in intensive prayers about my life. I spoke one word the rest were filling my tongue thus I continued saying them”

“Can you teach me the first word?” I asked but she smiled

“Huh! There is no exactly word to start with my young brother. It is an unknown language. Even that first word I’m saying surely I don’t remember it. I’ll also teach you on this topic well and surely you have to speak it because it’s the gift from God to all men, and the one who prays in another language communicates directly to God the bible says

1Cor.14.2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. (NIV)

But in summary for today that was my great encounter in my prayer life. So from that day I can spend two or more hours in prayers and actually I enjoy praying. I can fast many consecutive hours. God can speak and I can hear which was not so in past. It’s not that I’m boasting myself but I’m telling you so that you can see how our God use any person. It has actually helped to remove one perception from me that some can be used by God and some can’t. The bad thing is that this perception has led many people to become decieved and follow false teachings.

“Wow! Thanks a lot my sister. I have learnt a lot. But one last question I'd be happy to ask you. Actually is the question I ask any person I talk with, whom I see he/she has things to impact me”

“Okay, welcome”

“Anything or any person you know that you would like me also to know!?”

“wow! So you like reading books?”

“Exactly. It’s my hobby!”

“wow! That’s very good. I could see it you. Even this last question I can trace the book you read!” she said. I shook my head up-down to agree “I like that, you know books can give you exposure that you could not obtain in lifetime. Books widen your thinking and reasoning on anything coming before you.

But anyways I’ll recommend for you one person and one book. The person is Jesus Christ make your effort to know that man and connect with. He will help you know many things about yourself, about your life and everything in an imaginable manner. The book, I recommend the Holy bible because all the informations in it are centered on this man. Your interaction with them will never leave you the same”

“I promise you to do that”

“I hope when we meet again, I’ll see more effects caused by that interaction. Do that and help others become saved. This era is not for four minutes prayers, but at the start you can use the four minutes prayer to take you to the level of generals in prayer life as it did to me through my decisions. But it comes when we do it faithfully”
